Design and Build

The design and build process involves the following stages:

Initial Consultation

I make an initial visit to view your garden to discuss the creative and practical possibilities for your garden and the budget. We can go through a selection of inspirational ideas and discuss the way forward.

Following on from the initial visit, I e-mail a quotation for design work based on our discussions and if you would like to go ahead, the next stage is a survey of your garden.

Survey

We carry out a garden survey using digital level equipment. The brief can be discussed in more detail at this stage if necessary.

Presentation of plan

I make a visit or email a draft design with a moodboard of images of materials, features and plants suggested.

I offer a 3D CAD version of the design as an optional extra which is a great way to instantly visualise the new garden. The 3D can be emailed as an animation.

Quotations

Over the years I have worked with a number of landscapers who I know well and trust to deliver a beautifully built garden.

I can provide details of all contractors involved in the build of your garden including those for for lighting, irrigation, bespoke metalwork etc.

Landscaping

Just before the landscaping starts, I can tag any plants to keep or sometimes lift and put them aside to be planted later. I make sure that the landscaper has a scaled copy of the plan.

During the build, I can offer to visit to check on how everything is going or to discuss any issues that arise. The visits are charged for as and when required.

Planting

I discuss with you any plant preferences in terms of style, plant colours etc and I can incorporate any existing planting in your garden to keep. The plan will detail all plant varieties, quantities and their positions in the borders.

I can provide a list of plants and quotation to carry out all sourcing, delivery and planting.

After-care

Although we are not able to offer to maintain a garden on a regular basis, we can make 2- 3 visits a year to carry out any work required, provide advice etc which can be helpful as the garden establishes..
