I really enjoyed watching the Chelsea flower Show on tv this year. This is the ‘Help for Heroes’ garden designed by Matt Keightley, which won a Silver Gilt and the ‘Peoples’Choice’ award. Gorgeous planting of white agapanthus, Stipa, foxgloves, bronze fennel, with evergreen Buxus, Euphorbia mellifera and Pittosprum ‘Nana’ for structure. The backdrop of a dark Yew hedge sets it all off. The granite blocks in soft grey/slate colour, changing from rough hewn to smooth represent a soldiers’s rehabilitation. What a beautiful creation. I like to think that the aged lead pots in my previous post echo the granite blocks here and show how you could incorporate a piece of this look in your own garden – it is certainly a trend at the moment.
